AhlulBayt News Agency - The security forces in Kirkuk have arrested a group of sleeper cells linked to the ISIS.
Directorate of Kirkuk Police released a statement on Wednesday confirming that they have arrested a group of ISIS militants who were planing plots in the city.
According to the statement, the Kurdish security forces also seized several arms, rockets and explosives belonging to the group.
Kirkuk is a strategic oil-rich province in northern Iraq where diverse people, with different ethnic and religious backgrounds, live together.
Since the fall of Mosul, IS has constantly been attempting to bring the city under its control, but it regularly failed.
