US is not sincere in its so-called fight against the ISIL

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said Washington is not sincere in its so-called fight against the ISIL terrorists.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said Washington is not sincere in its so-called fight against the ISIL terrorists.

“The US asked Iran for help in the fight against terrorism. However, we believe the US lacks sincerity (in its anti-terror bid) as some of these terrorist groups are simultaneously supported by the US,” said Amir Abdollahian on Tuesday without mentioning the time of the request.

Since August, the US and some of its allies have been conducting airstrikes against what they say are the ISIL positions in Iraq. Some members of the US-led alliance also started a similar bombing campaign inside Syria in September.

However, the raids have so far failed to dislodge the Takfiri group who has occupied swathes of land in Iraq and Syria.
