Quranic Session Held in Turkey

On the occasion of the Holy Prophets (PBUH) birthday anniversary, a Quran recitation session was held by Iranian Cultural Center in Aşkale District of Erzurum Province in Turkey.

On the occasion of the Holy Prophets (PBUH) birthday anniversary, a Quran recitation session was held by Iranian Cultural Center in Aşkale District of Erzurum Province in Turkey.

According to the public relations office of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the Quranic program was organized in cooperation with Anatolia Youth Association in the region.

Jafar Fardi, eminent Iranian reciter, recited verses of the Holy Quran in the session.

The program was attended by Iranian cultural attaché, head of Turkish Felicity Party, head of the association, and head of the Turkish Teachers Association.

The participants at the program stressed the importance of getting more involved in Quran reading and contemplating its teachings, promoting Islamic unity and awareness of the younger generation.

A religious play featuring some of the ethical teachings of Islam and Islamic injunctions was a part of the session.

According to Islamic narrations of the Sunni Muslims, the 12th of Rabi al-Awwal (on the lunar calendar) is recognized as the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) while according to Shia Muslims the auspicious birthday of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was on 17th of Rabi-al-Awwal.

This year the 12th of Rabi al-Awwal fell on Friday while the 17th of the lunar month will fall on Friday, January 9.
