A force from the Iraqi Federal Police killed two elements from the Islamic State in Iraq and Levant to the northeast of Baquba city, the center of Diyala province.
Security source stated that "A force from the Iraqi Federal Police killed two elements from the Islamic State in Iraq and Levant during a security operation conducted at the skirts of Muqdadiya city (40 km) to the north-east of Baquba city."
