Palestinian captive dies in Israeli captivity

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) -  Jerusalemite captive Jihad Al-Tawil succumbed to his wounds suffered in an attack on him in Beersheba jail.His brother Sharif said in a statement on Tuesday that Jihad died after midnight Monday in Sorok hospital in Beersheba.Jihad was beaten and sprayed with gas by Israeli prison guards two weeks earlier in prison while serving his 3-month sentence for driving without a license.Sharif said that Jihad fainted during the assault and was not treated instantly, adding that he was taken to hospital in bad condition and remained in coma since then.He said that Jihad was arrested late last year and one week after his injury the prison administration told the family that his prison term was curtailed to what he had already served and asked it to sign his release papers and take his belongings from jail but the family refused.He added that the family would bury his brother in Bab El-Asbat cemetery after taking his ID card from jail.Jihad, a father of five children, is a resident of Ras Al-Amud in Silwan, south of the Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem./129
