Indian official: Recent uprisings indicate Islamic Revolution is still alive

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - An Indian official Wednesday said the recent uprisings, namely in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Bahrain and some other countries, indicated that the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran is by no means over. In an exclusive interview with IRNA, Chaudhary Mateen Ahmed, MLA of Delhi Assembly said, “The very first outcome of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, led by late Imam Khomeini, was that it transformed Iran from a monarchy to an Islamic Republic through which religious and cultural traditions were preserved.He said, undoubtedly, the Islamic Revolution which is based on Islamic ideology and lofty ideas of the late Imam, gave an appropriate lesson to those who are under rule of dictators to shatter power of irrationality and uproot the illegtimate rulers.Praising the awakening movements against the corrupt regimes ruled for years by dicators in many countries, he said such movements proved that the Islamic Revolution which took place thirty-five years ago, is still alive and is inspiring the marginalised people, not only throughout the region, but across the world. /129
