Israeli gov't issues tenders to build 2,000 units in Jerusalem and West Bank

The Israeli Ministry of Construction and Housing approved on Friday bids for the construction of about two thousand settlement units in east and north of Jerusalem and in different parts of the occupied West Bank.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Israeli Ministry of Construction and Housing approved on Friday bids for the construction of about two thousand settlement units in east and north of Jerusalem and in different parts of the occupied West Bank.

The Israeli government has announced its intention to issue these tenders in conjunction with the release of the third batch of the Palestinian veteran prisoners, but it decided to postpone the move until the end of US secretary of state John Kerry's visit to occupied Palestine.

The new bids include the construction of about 600 settlement units in the Jewish neighborhood of Ramat Shlomo established on Palestinian lands northeast of occupied Jerusalem, in addition to 800 other units that will be built on other settlements in the West Bank.
