Blast Close to Shiite Mosque, Kills Two, Injures 17 in Peshawar

PESHAWAR (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - At least two people were martyred and around 17 others injured when a bomb exploded on Tuesday evening in Peshawar – the capital of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province bordering Afghanistan.The apparent planted explosive device was detonated near Shiite Mosque and Hussayniyah in Imamia Colony of Peshawar’s Gulbahar Neighbourhood, said a local police official.ASP Ismael Kharak said that the device was planted in a motorcycle.Rescue and security agencies are being dispatched to the blast site.According to the Bomb Disposal Squad officials about three to four kilograms of explosives was used in the remote controlled blast.SP City Khalid Hamdani also confirmed that two people have been killed including the custodian of Imam Bargah Gulshan and Zaheer Abbas and an a Sunni brother were martyred in the bloody incident, and 17 inured in the blast.No one immediately claimed responsibility for the blast.
