Islamabad (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - An All-Pakistan Shia Conference was arranged in connection with demise Hazrat Syeda Zainab (AS) at the Haider-e-Qarar Complex here on Sunday, says a press release. A prominent scholar, Dr. Ghazanfar Mehdi, chairman of the All-Pakistan Shia Conference, chaired the conference.Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ghazanfar Mehdi said that after the tragedy of Karbala, Hazrat Syeda Zainab (AS) led the handcuffed ‘Caravan-e-Hussani’ to Damascus. He said that the 1,445-mile bare-footed journey of Hazrat Syeda Zainab (AS) could be considered the first-ever long march against the evil in human history. He said that Hazrat Syeda Zainab (AS) addressed at every main bazaar of 62 cities from Karbala to Damascus. Lastly, she addressed in the court of Yazid which revolutionised the masses and the government was toppled.He said it is essential that these golden chapters of history of Islam should be communicated to the younger generation. Allama Sibtain Sherazi, Zaildar Syed Ahsan Shah, Willayat Balti, Saghar Abbas Hamdani and other scholars also read papers on the life and teachings of Hazrat Syeda Zainab (AS).A resolution was unanimously adopted on the occasion which asked the new government to take action against those elements who were found guilty of spreading sectarianism and terrorism in the country.
