Iran envoy urges release of Palestinians from Zionists jails

Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Mohammad Khazaee called for the release of Palestinian prisoners from the Zionist regime jails.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Making the remarks in the UN Security Council (UNSC) session, he further called for halting the Zionist regime aggressions in Palestine, Lebanon and Syria. He urged the UNSC to make the Zionist regime abide by the international regulations. Khazaee, who as the head of the Non-Aligned Movement Coordinating Center, was voicing the views of the member states, also said that the organization condemned the illegal behavior of the Zionist regime in imprisoning thousands of Palestinians including women and children under harsh conditions. He slammed the Zionist regime’s torturing Palestinian inmates and stressing that NAM condemned the physical and psychological tortures exercised in Israeli prisons. The Iranian envoy further voiced concern over the ongoing siege of Gaza by the Zionist regime and its adverse human consequences and said the NAM member states demanded complete removal of the blockade. He also urged absolute end to the Zionist regime’s expanding settlements which he described as being completely against all international regulations. Khazaee criticized the ongoing ethnic cleansing in the West Bank and said the international community should accomplish its commitments regarding half a century of occupation by the Zionist regime and implement all relevant international regulations on the issue. Elsewhere in his remarks, the envoy condemned the Zionist attacks on Lebanese territory, and turning to the Syrian crisis, said the NAM condemned any Zionist regime attempts to transform the legal status of the Golan Heights. He described the situation in Syria as growing even worse and said militarization of Syrian crisis will only aggravate extremism and terrorism both in the country and across the region. Iran believes that dialogue among all Syrian groups will be the only way resulting in peace in that country, he noted. Reacting to the hollow claims raised against Iran by the Zionist regime, Khazaee stated that Iran is firmly faithful to the UN Charter which bans threatening other countries. He said the Zionist regime which possesses hundreds of nuclear warheads and enjoys a long record of state terrorism should stop threatening other countries and abide by the UN and international laws.End item/ 149
