Iranian FM demands constant innovation for Muslim unity

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) -  Ali Akbar Salehi, Iran Minister of Foreign Affairs issued a message to address Muslim Unity Conference referring to the new challenges Islam is confronting and urged for new measures to handle the situations.He said an exact observation of the regional changes, timely reaction and maintaining proper stances as well as innovations will help us to fulfill our historical mission to boost our unity and honor.He expressed regret over intensification of violence and terror against Muslims due to religious prejudices and said,” We should not let such people spread fratricide and disunity among Muslims or hurt the political or ideological unity of Muslims.”Iranian top official also criticized spread of Islamophobia as a new challenge for the Muslim community saying, ”Anti-Islamic moves, during the past years have tried to employ different ways to misrepresent Islam and Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). “ adding, “This notorious aim is followed through modern cyber and cinema technologies when unfortunately a group of Muslims, consciously or unconsciously feed these hostile channels by bombing or suicide attacks.”In his message for the 26th Muslim Unity Conference, Ali Akbar Salehi also referred to the situation in Syria and said,” We have frequently announced that the demands of the Syrian nation have to be met in a peaceful atmosphere and that the culture of dialogue has to replace the culture of violence and weaponry.”The message by Ali Akbar Salehi, Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs was read on the first day of the 26th international Muslim Unity Conference on Sunday 27th, January 2013 in Tehran.The conference aims at gathering Muslim scholars from different denominations to discuss the issues of Muslims from across the world./129
