Tehran to Host Quranic & Islamic Radios Int’l Conference

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Manager of Iran’s Quran Radio said the second international conference of Quranic and Islamic Radios is slated to be held in Tehran on February 25.Speaking at a press conference on Monday, he said the conference will be held with the motto of “Quran, Book of Awakening”.Mohammad Hossein Mohammadzadeh, who also serves as secretary general of the Quranic and Islamic Radios Union, added that the event will also honor the scientific status of grand Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani.He said the first edition of the conference, which was held in 2008 with the participation of directors of 60 Quranic radios from different parts of the world, agreed to establish the Quranic and Islamic Radios Union.According to Mr. Mohammadzadeh, the draft statute of the union has been prepared and it is expected to be approved in the February conference.He noted that there are some 190 Islamic and Quranic radios in the world and “we expect directors of at least half of them will take part in the second conference.Role of Quranic radios in introducing the Quran as the book of Awakening an d role of Quran radios in clarifying the lofty status of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) are the themes for papers to be presented at the conference, the official stated.He hoped that the event will serve to develop cooperation among Quran radios in the world.Mohammadzadeh went on to say that Iran’s Quran Radio plans to produce a 30-episode 3-hour Quranic program, in five languages; Persian, Arabic, Spanish, English, and Turkish, to be presented as packages to directors of Quran radios attending the Tehran conference. /129
