(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Pointing to the significance of Palestine issue in Tehran NAM summit, a parliamentary member of Palestine stated: "Tehran NAM summit was in fact an international referendum in support of Palestine"

"In a meeting held in Tehran, the Iranian president, and Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian Authority, both emphasized on the necessity of establishing a national peace in Palestine, and termination of schism among Palestinians", Atef Ibrahim Adwan, a Palestinian member of parliament reiterated.

"Non-aligned movement has became inactive in recent years. We expect that this movement support Palestine firmly, and in Tehran summit this support was outstanding", Adwan stressed.

"Setting priority to Palestine in Tehran summit was a favor to the nation of Palestine and once more this issue was raised with international public opinion", he added.

Dr. Wasel Abu Yousef, a member of PLO, explained: "self-determination right, the right of refugees' return, right to establish Palestine as an independent state with full sovereignty, with Quds as its capital city within occupied lands designated in 1967. These are the principles on which we emphasize, and I have to say that Tehran summit was a kind of referendum in this regard. All international institutions should follow this issue as well".


"In the meeting between Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian Authority, and Dr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president, establishment of a true national peace in Palestine and termination of Palestinians' schism and bipartisanism, was set to be the center of focus ", restated Abu Yousef.

It should also be mentioned that following the issuance of final declaration in 31 Aug. 2012 in Tehran, the 16th NAM summit was closed.
