Iran's Foreign ministry spokesperson referred to the inaugural speech by The Supreme Leader and its importance for NAM, and emphasized on various issues including, peaceful settlement of Syrian crisis.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Iran's Foreign ministry spokesperson referred to the inaugural speech by The Supreme Leader and its importance for NAM, and emphasized on various issues including, peaceful settlement of Syrian crisis.

Mehmanparast added:"participants discussed about the Syria crisis and agreed to peaceful solution of Syrian crisis, non-interference of foreign countries and preventing arms trafficking to Syria."

He regarded Tehran's documents as a considerable success and said: "the Algerian representative, on behalf of all NAM members, appreciated Iran's hospitality in holding this summit."

Mehmanparast referred to Ayatollah Khamenei's speech as a great event of this summit and continued: "Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the current situation of the region that is facing with crises and challenges and that the western countries are also suffering from these crises and they are violating other nation's rights.

Mehmanparast said:"the diluted role of superpowers and their failure in political settings have provided the opportunity for NAM members to play a key role in international stage. Participation of many international delegations in Tehran summit shows the significant position and role of Iran in the region.

He added:"this is a serious responsibility for us and will be much heavier in the next three years. Consequently, we should do our best to improve this role in all aspects as well as realizing the summit theme "Lasting Peace through Joint Global Governance".
