(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The demand was raised by Ahmadinejad during a meeting with Indonesian Vice-President Boediono on the sidelines of NAM summit in Tehran.
As regards the bilateral relations between Iran and Indonesia, Ahmadinejad described the two countries' ties as "good and growing", and expressed the hope that the efforts made by Iranian and Indonesian officials would result in long strides towards the expansion of the bilateral relations.
During the meeting, Boediono said Iran's presidency over the NAM would have good effects for the activation of the movement.
On Thursday, Egyptian President Mohammad Mursi officially handed the presidency of the movement to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during the inaugural ceremony of the summit.
NAM is an international organization of states considering themselves not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc. NAM is the largest grouping of countries outside of the United Nations.
NAM member states represent nearly two-thirds of the United Nations' members and comprise 55% of the world population, particularly countries considered to be developing or part of the Third World.
