(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Number of participants in the 4th International Quran Competition for Muslim Students has increased by 25 percent compared to its previous edition.This is according to Mahmoud Mousavi, the executive director of the 4th International Quran Competition for Muslim Students, who, talking to IQNA, also said that all administrative procedures of the international event have been implemented under the supervision of the contest’s policy-making council.He said that several cities had voiced their preparation to host the Quranic event from among which Tabriz was selected adding that Tabriz and the holy city of Najaf were the two primary options for this year’s edition.Mousavi said that representatives from over 50 countries are expected to attend the function adding that specialized forums on Islamic Awakening will be held on the sidelines of the contest as well.He continued that as the 4th edition of the competition will be held concurrent with the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Sadegh (AS), some sessions on Quran, science and status of the Imam (AS) will be also held.The participants will be received and accommodated on September 10th and the opening ceremony will be held on the same day, Mousavi said, noting, the preliminary stage of the Quran memorization competition is scheduled to be held on September 11-13 in the morning and the preliminary stage of the Quran recitation contest has been set for September 11-12 in the afternoon."Also, the final stage of the two categories will be held on September 13th in the afternoon and the contest will come to an end next day", the executive director further added.He concluded a number of supplementary programs on the holy Quran and its teachings have been planned for the participants saying that the contest will be open to the public. /129
