(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - NAM is a group of states considering themselves not aligned formally with or against any major power bloc.
Iranian spokesman for the NAM summit, Mohammad Reza Forqani, stressed that only Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was officially invited to the summit scheduled for 30 and 31 August, rebuffing claims by Haniya's spokesperson that he was invited to the convention by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
On Saturday, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Ramin Mehmanparast, told reporters that Haniya was invited solely as a "special guest" rather than an official representative of Palestine.
