Swiss government once again voiced its opposition to oil embargo against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Swiss Economy Ministry emphasized that the Swiss government will not join the oil embargo against Iran despite pressures by the US and EU.

Swiss Foreign Ministry spokesman in response to a question by that country’s official news agency said his country deems as important establishing good ties with Iran.

Switzerland has said that it is up to the trade sides to decide about import, sale, purchase and transport of Iran’s crude oil, petrochemicals, as well as insurance coverage.

Swiss government has also said no to sanctions to be imposed on Central Bank of Iran.

Although the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the US ambassador to Switzerland have pressured the Swiss government over past months to join the unilateral sanctions imposed against Iran, Bern has refused to do so.
