(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Issa Qaraqe said prisoners will refuse to accept their daily meals on Monday in support of Mahmoud Sarsak and Akram Rikhawi, who have been on hunger strike for 80 and 60 days respectively, and other prisoners who have not ended their hunger strike on May 14.
The prisoners, in a separate statement, called on the Israeli Prisons Service to respond to Sarsak and Rikhawi’s demands and release them due to their critical health conditions.
Sarsak, a member of the Palestinian national football team, went on hunger strike in March protesting at his administrative detention, while Rikhawi went on hunger strike in mid April protesting at the Israeli authorities’ negligence of his health state in prison.
In addition, Samer al-Baraq has been on hunger strike since May 22, to protest at his detention for around two years without charge or trail. He was admitted to Ramleh prison clinic after his health seriously worsened.
