(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Emergency Relief Committee of the Arab Doctors Union has called for n urgent support for the Gaza Strip and supplying it with necessary medications in order to meet the large deficit in Gaza’s hospitals caused by the Siege imposed since six years.
The Committee asserted, in a statement issued on Sunday, that the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are suffering from a serious health crisis that may lead to an imminent humanitarian disaster unless there is urgent intervention. It also revealed that the solution to overcome this crisis lies in mustering all efforts to immediately support Gaza’s residents in order to save them.
The lack of medicines has also caused deterioration of many patients’ conditions, particularly those who suffer from chronic diseases.
The Committee expressed its full readiness to allow the entry of medicines and necessary supplies to the Gaza Strip, to overcome this crisis, without any administrative expenses in order to ease the donor institutions' burden and as a contribution to surpass the current condition.
Meanwhile, a medical aid convoy arrived to the Gaza Strip, on Sunday, via the Rafah crossing.
Sources from Hamas’ media Office told PIC’s reporter that the convoy carries 67 people in solidarity with GAZA from 19 Arab and Muslim countries, including: Senegal, Egypt, Algeria Tunisia, Sudan, Jordan, Lebanon, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Malaysia, Turkey, and Guinea.
