13th Dubai Holy Quran Award in the UAE

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The 13th edition of national Quran memorization contest, Dubai Holy Quran Award, is underway in the UAE.According to Al-Bayan newspaper, the competitions began on February 4 concurrent with the birth anniversary of the holy prophet (PBUH) and continue until February 11.Female participants compete at Al-Nehzah Association of Women in Al-Hamriyyah region in Dubai and Social Guidance Association in Al-Qasis region in Dubai hosts male participants.The national contest has been held with 302 participants. The previous edition of the contest was attended by 296 Quran memorizers.Memorization of the entire Quran and 20, 10, 5 and 3 parts (Juzes) of the Quran are the categories of the 13th edition of the contest.Ibrahim Mohammad Bumelhah, head of the organizing committee of the contest said that the participants can also compete on recitation of the Quran and recite the verses in various readings such as Warsh, Qalun, al-Duri, etc. /129
