(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - At least nine Syrian soldiers have been killed in clashes with armed groups in northwestern Syria, a report says.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the deaths took place in three separate clashes at Jebel al-Zawiya in Idlib Province. Another 21 soldiers were also injured in the incidents.
On Friday, nine other soldiers were killed during clashes with armed groups in the Syrian province of Dara'a.
Also, 10 troops lost their lives in the Jebel al-Zuwiya area last Sunday after their convoy was attacked by armed groups.
Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March, with demonstrations being held both against and in favor of President Bashar al-Assad. Hundreds of people, including security forces, have been killed in the unrest.
The West and the Syrian opposition accuse the government of killing the protesters. But Damascus blames ''outlaws, saboteurs and armed terrorist groups'' for the unrest, insisting that it is being orchestrated from abroad.
