Lebanese Shia Cleric: We would be true supporters to Imam Hussein, when seek reform in Islamic reality

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - His Eminence, Sayyed Ali Fadlullah, gave a lecture in the Mosque of Imam Ali (Hawsh Sour) that was attended by a large audience. The Sayyed talked about the personality of Imam Al-Hussein (a.s.) and pointed out that he is an Islamic personality that is loved by all Muslims and one which the Messenger was concerned with clarifying all its spiritual and missionary dimensions.

The Sayyed pointed out to the fact that the Honorable Messenger, who knew the enormity of the challenges that Imam Hussein was destined to face when he would become an Imam, was concerned with establishing a deep relation between the Muslims and the Imam. Thus, he used to emphasize to the Muslims that Al-Hassan and Al-Hussein were Imams, whether they chose to rise or stay put.

The Sayyed further said that this love for Imam Al-Hussein was demonstrated in Karbala by the elite of his household members and companions who chose to stay with him throughout his struggle until they were martyred. The Sayyed added that we, too, can be with Al-Hussein although we are several years apart. He said that when we seek reform in the Islamic reality, we would be following the same line of Al-Hussein, and when we stand against local, regional and international injustice, we would be following the straight path he called on us to follow. The Sayyed concluded that we have, therefore, to side with all the movements of reform in the Arab and Muslim world and in any other place in the entire world. We should not criticize or condemn them; but rather, we should offer them advice and support and try our best to prevent the international axes from exploiting their revolutions to thwart any attempt for progress in the Arab reality.
