(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - "It is necessary to follow calmly and carefully the situation around the Iranian nuclear program, but no threat to attack must be issued against anyone because it could end up in a "big war" in the Middle East," said Medvedev in Germany, where he chaired the inauguration of the Nord Stream gas pipeline.
"It would be catastrophic for the Middle East," said Medvedev during a joint press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the end of the gas pipeline inauguration ceremony.
He was referring to plans announced by Israel to attack Iranian nuclear stations despite the Iranian claim that its nuclear program has peaceful purposes.
Analysts recall that Tel Aviv has refused to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and is estimated to have some 200 nuclear warheads.
