Sacrifice of animal has remained a great means of attaining the nearness of the Almighty Allah. Prophet Ibraheem (AS) was directed to sacrifice Isma'il who was replaced with a ram, and this great sacrifice is commemorated since that time and it becomes a living tradition for the coming generations.
