(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Protesters are rallying against poverty, unemployment, corporatism, social inequality and cuts in government money toward education.
Los Angeles Police officers have been monitoring the demonstration from the start.
Protesters say they are aware of the questionable tactics police in New York are using on protesters occupying Wall Street.
Volunteers from the National Lawyers Guild are at City Hall, educating protesters about their legal rights in case they are confronted by police.
However, activists say they believe the police will eventually side with them, because their future is at risk too.
Protesters say the occupy movement is aimed at the common concerns of all American people, so they are getting larger each day and spreading from all across the country.
Protesters say they plan to occupy City Hall for as long as it takes to send their message.
The rallies originally started two weeks ago under the name of “Occupy Wall Street” when activists and demonstrators announced their intention to seize the heart of US financial transactions in protest at dire economic conditions believed to be caused by the excessive greed of America's big corporations.
The movement has now grown dramatically and spread to other major cities across the US.
