Anjuman-e-Shari Shian on Saturday organized a seminar “Impact of the Islamic revolution of Iran on the world” at Hurriyat (M) headquarters, Rajbagh, here to commemorate the 22nd death anniversary of the founder of the Islamic revolution in Iran, Imam Khomeini.
Speaking on the occasion, Hurriyat (M) chairman said, besides sacrifices the reason behind the success of Iranian revolution lay in “effective strategy and inclusive approach.”
“The Islamic world witnessed several unsuccessful movements but the credit for the success of the Iranian revolution goes to Imam Khomeini’s willingness to take everyone on board. There were a number of stalwart Ulema in Iran at that time, but it was Imam Khomeini’s dedication that even those Ulema rendered their services to the revolution under his leadership,” he said.
Mirwaiz said those freedom movements are reaching to its logical conclusion whose leadership are sincere to their cause and have a common strategy to achieve the goal. He said on both the fronts Kashmiri separatist leadership has failed to a large extent. Hurriyat (M) chairman stated that Kashmiri pro freedom leadership is divided because of internal rivalry and their respective egos. It has further created problems on forming a common strategy.
“No doubt, our goal is same, but the divided leadership has delayed the Kashmir solution since 1931. Unfortunately, we could not form a common strength, of which leaders like Ayatullah Khomeini and others had asked to us. There is no denial to the basic fact that Kashmir issue will get resolved sooner or later. But it would have been for better interests of people of the state, if common strategy was adopted instead of criticising each other,” he said.
Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, said it was due to the Islamic revolution in Iran that the Kashmir struggle took a new turn.
Hurriyat (M) senior leader and Democratic Freedom Party chairman, Shabir Ahmad Shah said Imam Khomeini had defeated “imperialistic powers” through the revolution.
Hurriyat (M) leader Prof. Abdul Gani Bhat, also lauded Imam Khomeini’s resolve in safeguarding “the collective interests of Muslims against the world imperialistic forces.”
The Hurriyat leader said that despite economic sanctions imposed by America and its allied countries, the progress and prosperity in all the fields of life is going at high rate in Iran which has set an example for the Muslim, how Muslim rule is better than any other system.
Prof Abdul Gani Bhat on the occasion said that late Iranian leader had supported the Kashmiri freedom movement, and he was on forefront whenever Kashmiris or Muslims in other parts of the world were facing the tyranny of the government.
Another executive member of Hurriyat Conference, Aga Syed Hassan on the occasion said that 32 years back the Iran spiritual leader Ayatullah Khomeini favoured unity among the Kashmiri leadership, after he strongly supported the Kashmir cause. “After 32 years, we are realising that pro-freedom leadership should unite as divided house is hampering the cause,” he said.
Hurriyat (M) leaders, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Nayeem Khan and Zafar Akbar Bhat also spoke on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the death anniversary of Imam Khomeini was observed in Kargil with Iran's Al-Mustafa University Rep. in India Dr. Ghulam Raza Mehdavi participating in the function attended by 25000 people.
