Cheryl P Celestial, 31, an employee at a laundry company owned by Hj Besar, is now known as Syakirah binti Abdullah Celestial.
More than 200 guests comprising invited guests and officers from the Islamic Da'wah Centre attended the ceremony.
The ceremony, which began with a recital of the surah al-Fatihah, was headed by an officer from the Islamic Da'wah Centre.
