(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The first volume of the Quran Encyclopedia for Youth will be released concurrent with the international book fair in Tehran, according to the director of Encyclopedias Section of The Center for Quranic Culture and Teachings.

Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Khorasani said that compilation of the work began 6 years ago and the first volume is ready to be presented at the international book fair.

Regarding the need of the youth to learn about Quranic concepts, he said, “Following the publication of 7 volumes of the Quran Encyclopedia for adults, three more volumes of which are ready to be published soon, the center decided to meet the needs of the youth in this respect, too."

He regarded the measure as a step for motivating the younger generation to get involved with Quranic researches.

He stated the work mainly targets students of guidance school and high school adding that a group of experts in Quranic literature and sciences for children and the youth have tried their best to explain the Quranic concepts and meanings with a simple language comprehensible for this age group.

“The entries beginning with the letter "A" have been so many that cover the entire first volume of the work. The second volume will be allocated to the words beginning with letter B.”

The director noted the encyclopedia is a pictorial and colorful collection which is hoped to attract the youth and encourage them to get involved in Quranic activities.

He went on to say that the encyclopedia as a Quranic reference can play a complementary role in teaching Quran at the schools and educational centers.
