The 18th edition of “Sheikh Jasem bin Mohammad Al Thani” International Quran Competition on memorization and Tajweed will be held in Qatar, director of the Office for Dissemination and Islamic Guidance of Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs of the country announced.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The 18th edition of “Sheikh Jasem bin Mohammad Al Thani” International Quran Competition on memorization and Tajweed will be held in Qatar, director of the Office for Dissemination and Islamic Guidance of Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs of the country announced.

According to Moheet website, Mohammad Al-Mahmoud said registration for the contest started on Tuesday, January 5.

“The registration which is underway daily in both mornings and evenings will continue until February 5,” he added.

Al-Mahmoud stated: “the contest includes 7 categories of memorization of the entire Quran with Tarteel and Tajweed principles, memorization of 25, 20, 15, 10 and 5 Juzes (parts) of the Quran as well as memorization of one of the last five Juzes of the Quran.

He noted that the final category will be held for children under 8 years old.
