(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - A poetry reading was held in Kabul, Afghanistan, earlier this week featuring the Ashura uprising.
Titled “Ney Nava” (sound of reed), it was organized by Mehr Center for Media Solidarity in association with Dor Dori cultural institute, Rahe Farda institute and the Katib Higher Education Center, according to Sedaye Afghan news agency.
Soltan Azizpur and Mahmud Jafari gave speeches at the event about the Ashura uprising and the literature inspired by Ashura.
Jafari said concepts like martyrdom, seeking justice and self-sacrifice are among the themes of Ashura literature.
He noted that sometimes there are exaggerations and untrue concepts in Ashura literary works which may result in distortion of the Ashura event.
