(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Mourning ceremonies on the occasion of the month of Muharram and martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS) are held in Austria.
The ceremonies began from the first night of Muharram at Imam Ali (AS) Center in Vienna and continue until the 12th night of the month (December 18).
Among other programs of the center is reciting the Ashura Supplication every morning at 7 am. local time.
Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Mahdi Husseini presents speeches on the philosophy of Ashura uprising and the month of Muharram and elegies are performed at the end of the ceremonies.
Mourning rituals in Muharram are held to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his faithful companion in the Battle of Karbala in the year 61 after Hijrat( 680 A.D.).
