The Kashmir Media Service reported that the authorities had imposed curfew and other restrictions in Srinagar to prevent people from staging demonstrations against the attack on APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in Chandigarh and conducting a march towards Mazar-e-Shuhada at Eidgah.
The report quoted local people as saying that scores of paramilitary men were deployed in and around Jamia Masjid since Friday morning.
