(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Some 9000 seminary students from 72 nationalities have taken part at the 16th International Quran and Hadith Olympiad of the Al-Mustafa International University.
This is according to Mohammad Reza Saleh cultural and educational deputy of the university speaking at a press conference in Qom yesterday, November 15.
Mr. Saleh said that in this edition of the Olympiad, the number of categories has risen to 56 including 40 oral and written categories as well as 16 categories featuring Quranic and Hadith works.
“It is held at three levels for students, lecturers and families,” he added, noting that this year, the Olympiad’s preliminary stages were held in Iran as well as 34 other countries.
The final stage for men is slated to be held on November 20-21 and women’s competition will be held on November 21.
“Overall, 200 of the participants will be selected as winners in different categories and honored at the closing ceremony,” he stated.
Mr. Saleh went on to say that Al-Mustafa International University pursues Quranic objectives in all its educational, cultural and research activities.
