"In Iraq, on a single day, 22 explosions left hundreds of martyrs and injured. It is crystal clear that there is a measured scheme at work because Iraqis are moving toward taking the crisis-stricken nation to safety," Ayatollah Khatami noted.
"Iraq's problems are being resolved and this worries those who cannot stand the success and rule of the Iraqi people: the US who never wanted the independence of the Iraqis along with some regional countries," Ayatollah Khatami stated.
"They need an insecure Iraq to achieve their goals," he underscored.
At least 120 people were killed and 360 wounded from a series of bomb blasts in Baghdad on Tuesday, just days after 52 hostages and police were killed when gunmen seized a Catholic cathedral in the Iraqi capital city.
Meantime, Iraq's parliament announced that it will meet on Monday to elect a speaker, a move that could break the political deadlock and see Nuri al-Maliki reappointed as prime minister.
Iraq has been without a permanent government since an inconclusive election in March.

Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami here on Friday hailed Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's tour of Qom, saying the 10-day trip practically disclosed false claims of the arrogance.
