A source in the capital's Muslim community told an Interfax-Religion correspondent that the act of vandalism was committed in the dawn on September 21, when parishioners were coming to the mosque for the morning prayer.
Eye-witnesses say that the attackers were wearing masking hoods.
Bags with incendiary mixture were thrown to the building, but parishioners came in time and managed to cope with the fire, which insignificantly damaged the shop.
The interviewee of the agency noted that it is not the first case of vandalism against the Historical Mosque of Moscow.
