Ahlul Bayt News Agency ; Vienna – A message of World Shia Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, condemning the plots against Islam, especially the doomed plan of Quran burning, was presented to the Austrian president and foreign minister by Iran's charge d'affaires.
Ali Meshkin-Mehr said that translated version of Imam Khamenei's message was delivered to the Austrian President Heinz Fischer and Foreign Minister Michael Spindelegger during a meeting of the latter with the ambassadors of the Asian countries to that country.
A report on the objectives of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's visit to New York was also released to the Chancellor of Austria Werner Fayman.
In a meeting with the Austrian Foreign Minister Michael Spindelegger, Meshkin-Mehr said that anti-Islamic measures will not contribute to the global peace and security; rather it will create a rift and non-confidence between the Islamic world and
the West.
Under the current circumstances, Austria as culture-loving country, which recognized Islam as the official religion in its territory 102 years ago, can play a crucial role in the field of religious and cultural dialogue, he said.
Spindelegger, for his part, welcomed the idea of religious and cultural dialogue and said that his country will assume a more active role in the field by undertaking special initiatives.
