According to head of the Organization of Islamic Dissemination in the holy city of Qom, some 370 Quranic programs were held in the city during last year (March 2009-2010).

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), HOLY QOM, Iran -- Speaking at a press conference, Hojjat-ol-Islam Abbas Eskandari said, “the programs included courses on Quran reading and recitation in the framework of a Quranic movement, courses on teaching Sowt and Lahn, interpretation of the Quran and Quranic concepts as well as Quran competitions and Quranic recitation sessions.”

Referring to other programs of the organization during last year, he added: “174 religious meetings were held by the organization on various themes such as reformation of consumption patterns, women and family, hijab and chastity, and the infallibles’ (AS) tradition.”

Director General of the organization also referred to activities planned in mosques and mentioned some instructional courses held by the organization for Imams of mosques during last year.

Exhibitions on hijab and chastity and those displaying cultural achievements of thirty years after the victory of the Islamic revolution were also among the activities of the organization.
