An international Islamic calligraphy exhibition will open today in Kazan, capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, info-islam reported.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), Adel Al-Fallah, Kuwait’s deputy minister of Awqaf will officiate the opening ceremony.

The exhibition is organized by Tatarstan’s Culture Ministry with the cooperation of Kuwait’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.

40 calligraphists from Kuwait, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Turkey, Syria, Russia, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Morocco and a number of other countries will showcase their works at the exhibition. They include Turkish master Hassan Chalabi and prominent Iranian calligrapher Abbas Akhavein.

Tatarstan’s national art gallery will host the event.

The Republic of Tatarstan is a republic of the Russian Federation with a population of 3,800,000.
