Supreme Leader’s Office reported that the Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani’s letter in which he has requested for being pardoned of the culprits is as follows: In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate the Most Merciful; Esteemed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khameneie (long live);
Hail to you and congratulations on blessed occasion of the Exalted Prophet’s most blessed daughter (P). This blessed occasion also coincides with the birth anniversary of the late Imam Khomeini (P). After the passage of three decades the pillars of the Islamic system have got so strong and have become so deep-rooted in the hearts and minds of the pious individuals that by Grace of God, relying on Supreme Source of Jurisprudence (Vali-ye-Faqih) leadership, and the unlimited support of the Ummah (Islamic nation), entire hatched plots are dismantled one after the other and path towards perfection is paved gloriously.
Last year, at 10th Presidential Election, the pious and revolutionary people created another epical scene, putting on display another aspect of true democracy of religious type in Islamic Iran, despite the broad propagation launched by the enemies and the antagonists, in which 40 million people attended the election polls that had rare precedence, quite freely, in which they chose the person they preferred with a high majority, landslide vote.
That great show of power by the nation and that epical presence could not be tolerated by our enemies who decided to turn bitter the sweetness of that victory. The anti-revolutionary forces inside the country joined their counterparts abroad relying on the unlimited support of the sworn enemies and began treachery and fomenting unrest. A bunch of ignorant, shortsighted people with different intentions further fueled the unrests and by norm breaking created problems for both the people and the system, posing threats against the lives and the properties of the people. The country’s disciplinary, intelligence, and judiciary forces countered the rioters, each in accordance with their defined duties accordingly.
When the nature of the unrests was revealed and the plots hatched by the enemies became crystal clear, a number of these cheated individuals came to their senses, regretted their deeds, repented, and are now requesting to be pardoned.
In accordance with Article 11 of the IRI Constitution, as per the attached list, the names of 81 culprits of the general and revolutionary courts whose files has been surveyed and found suitable for being pardoned, or decreased sentences, is presented to your highness, whose pardoned decrees or decreased sentences would be issued if you would approve of this proposal.
