Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), It is slated for Sunday, May 16, in Nurlastskom region of Tatarstan. Organized by one of the region’s benefactor, the competition is aimed at encouraging children to learn reading and memorizing the holy Quran.
Some 150 children are expected to attend the contest, which is held in two categories of memorization and recitation of the Quran.
Members of Hafiz Quran Center which is affiliated to Suleiman Mosque in the city of Qazan will judge the participants. Winners will be awarded in a ceremony next week.
An autonomous republic of the Russian Federation, Tatarstan is a predominantly Muslim republic where there are over 1000 mosques.
