Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), The decision was made yesterday in Mashhad in a meeting of the competition’s policy-making council.
Speaking at the meeting, governor of Khorasan Razavi Province Mahmud Salahi stressed that every problem man is facing is because of neglecting the teachings of the holy Quran.
He said that in an Islamic society like Iran paying attention to Quranic teachings should be institutionalized.
Salahi said that Khorasan Razavi Province regards hosting the international Quran competition as an opportunity for fostering Quranic teachings in society.
Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammadi, advisor to Culture Minster and head of the Center for Coordination, Development and Promotion of Quranic Activities, regarded the competition as an opportunity for creating a Quranic cultural movement.
Also speaking was head of the University Jihad Organization Hamid Reza Tayyebi who said that the competition’s aim was to strengthen relations among students of the Islamic world.
The third international Quran competition for Muslim students will be held in December with the presence of Quran reciters and memorizers from different countries.
