Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), Flash floods triggered by heavy rains have killed at least 66 people and rendered thousands homeless in Afghanistan, officials say.
The head of Afghan National Disaster Management Authority said Saturday that hundreds of homes had been destroyed in northern and western parts of the country following days of heavy rains.
"Twenty-three people have died in Badghis, 21 in Ghor and another 22 in Herat province," AFP quoted Abdul Hameed Mubariz Hameedi, referring to the three worst-hit provinces.
Flood-waters have also damaged farm lands in the region. Rescue workers are struggling to help thousands of affected people.
