Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), Chief Executive Officer, AlHuda Centre of Islamic Banking and Economics of Pakistan, Zubair Mughal, has said that Afghanistan is a growing emerging market for the Islamic financial industry.
During his recent visit to Afghanistan, he met with the Governor of Central Bank of Afghanistan (Da Afghan Bank), Presidents of the conventional banks, Heads of Islamic Banking Divisions, general secretary of Afghanistan Banking Association and various representatives of Microfinance institutions.
He said that total 18 banks including foreign banks are working in Afghanistan right now from which Kabul Bank, Ghazanfer Bank, Alfalah Bank, Azizi Bank, Bank-e-Milli Afghan, are operating Islamic Banking in Afghanistan.
Therefore, Maiwand Bank and other banks are wondering for the launch of Islamic banking operations in near future.
