The Coordinating Center of North Caucasian Muslims has appealed to Russian citizens to unite and to give an appropriate response to the terrorist threat.
"North Caucasian Muslims are deeply aggrieved with the tragedy that happened in the Moscow metro today. Dozens of people died at the hands of terrorists. Innocent people were slain by the villains. There is no excuse and no pardon for the organizers and perpetrators of these barbaric killings," says the appeal received by Interfax on Monday.
"The terrorists aim to seed fear and animosity between nationalities and religions but they will not succeed, the same as they have never succeeded before," the appeal runs.
The center urged the Russian public "to unite and to give an appropriate response to the terrorist threat."
"We have a great future, and a group of terrorists cannot obstruct our progress," the center said.
Center head Ismail Berdiyev presented condolences to the families and friends of the dead on behalf of North Caucasian Muslims.
