Saudi authorities started arbitrary arrests against Saudi Shia in Al-Hassa on the past few weeks in a continuation to the campaign that was started few years back.
Sources informed that 25 Saudi Shia citizens from Al-Hassa were detained for posting Ashura banners.
Detainees were sent to Al-Hasa General prison. Most of the detainees are college students and are in their twenties.
Many of them were arrested from their workplaces, schools, colleges or on the police checkpoints.
Al-Hasa is facing sectarian harassment and arbitrary detentions against Shia citizens for the past five years where tens of mosques, worship houses and religious schools were closed amid a silent official media human rights committees.
