Rohingya Teen Killed in Delhi; Four Detained

A 14-year-old Rohingya boy was fatally stabbed following a dispute with local youths in Delhi. Police have detained four teenagers in connection with the incident.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Indian police have reported the killing of a 14-year-old Rohingya boy following a violent altercation with a group of teenagers in a residential area of Delhi.

According to police, a dispute broke out between the victim and four other teenagers, all residents of the same neighborhood, and quickly escalated into violence. The suspects allegedly attacked the boy with a sharp weapon, inflicting injuries that proved fatal.

Hasaid Ahmad, a representative of the Rohingya refugee community, told media outlets that the confrontation began while the victim was on his way to offer prayers and was stopped by the suspects. He claimed the attackers had mocked the teenager and two other Rohingya children prior to the assault.

The injured boy was transported to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where he later died due to the severity of his wounds. Ahmad further alleged that a delay in arranging blood for transfusion contributed to the teenager’s death, stating that his life might have been saved had the transfusion been provided in time.

Police said that after registering a case, four teenagers linked to the incident were detained. Deepak Pandey, the investigating officer, stated that the cause of death was cardiac arrest resulting from severe injuries and added that inquiries into the motive behind the attack are ongoing.
