AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The health minister of India’s Jharkhand state has honored a gym trainer from Uttarakhand for his courageous intervention in defense of a Muslim shopkeeper during an alleged attack by members of the Hindu extremist group Bajrang Dal.
Dr. Irfan Ansari praised the trainer’s actions and announced that he would award him 200,000 Indian rupees in cash, to be paid personally from his own salary, in recognition of his bravery.
In a strongly worded statement, the Jharkhand health minister described the trainer’s conduct as a practical response to, “the poison of hatred,” which he said is spreading in parts of Indian society. Ansari stressed that at a time when efforts to sow division persist, such displays of brotherhood and humanity have compelled the nation’s public conscience to reflect.
He further described the act as a sign of the revival of the true spirit of freedom in India, stating that, “our struggle is not against any Indian compatriot, but against a divisive legacy rooted in the colonial era.”
