Security has beefed up on all Imam Bargahs including Karbala Gamay Shah. Walk through gates have been installed at the main gates and snipers have been deployed on the rooftops.
Also, ban has been imposed on pillion riding for three days as vehicles surveillance and checking is also underway. A special control room has been established in CCPO office to monitor Lahore division on Ashura. The processions and majalis are being monitored through CCTV cameras.
CCPO Lahore Pervaiz Rathore has appealed the citizens to remain vigilant and immediately inform police about any suspected activity.
