If world wants justice, must read Nahjul Balagha- India scholars

On the auspicious occasion of Eid-e-Ghadeer, Idara-e-Ilm-o-Danish, Lucknow organized ‘Dars-e-Nahjul Balagha’ in various parts of India to spread the teachings of Imam Ali and introduce his virtues to the public.

AhlulBayt News Agency: In Lucknow, at Kazmi Masjid, Hujjatul Islam Syed Haider Abbas Rizvi, director of the Ilm-o-Danish Library and the founder of the Idara-e-Ilm-o-Danish delivered a lecture introducing Nahjul Balagha to the faithful and the youth.

Similarly, a session was held in, Barabanki, Alampur, where Hujjatul Islam Zair Abid presented an introduction to Nahjul Balagha.

He emphasized that whenever Sunni scholars have studied the book deeply, they have been deeply impressed by Imam Ali's character. He noted that the sayings of Imam Ali offer a powerful source of understanding his personality.

Maulana Ejaz Hussain Kashmiri recited a poetic tribute (qasida) in praise of Imam Ali, which filled the atmosphere with spiritual light as attendees repeatedly chanted "Ali Ali Maula".

Another session was held in Amia Deoria, Utraula, Balrampur district, where Maulana Zair Abbas Jalalpuri said during his talk that the progress of the world today owes much to the Qur’an and Nahjul Balagha. He asked, “Have we ever taken the time to seriously study these texts?”

He added that he fully supports the mission launched by Idara-e-Ilm-o-Danish and highlighted the importance of organizing more such events in the future.

Maulana Zair Abbas further explained the popularity of Nahjul Balagha by saying it is due either to Imam Ali’s profound knowledge, the book's comprehensive nature, or the sincerity of its compiler, Syed Razi — which has kept the book relevant and beloved for over a thousand years.

Maulana Syed Haider Abbas Rizvi also praised scholars like Allama Mufti Jafar Hussain and other translators for making the teachings of Imam Ali accessible in Urdu, calling it a great service to the community.

Quoting Sunni scholar Shaykh Muhammad Hasan Nail Misri, founder of the Idara-e-Ilm-o-Danish, Maulana Haider Abbas said that “Nahjul Balagha shows Ali ibn Abi Talib as an ocean of knowledge and religion, and a sea of wisdom and political insight, whose depths are difficult to fully explore.”

He also shared that Allama Muhammad Taqi Jafari had written a detailed Persian commentary in 27 volumes on 185 sermons of Nahjul Balagha, but passed away before completing the entire work. In the first and ninth volumes, he identified 160 places where Imam Ali describes himself.

In saying number 156 of Nahjul Balagha, Imam Ali says:

“You must obey those individuals whose identity you are not excused from being unaware of.”

Commenting on this, the scholar Ibn Abi al-Hadid al-Mu'tazili wrote:

“Anyone who is unaware of and does not accept the Imamate of Imam Ali will, according to us, be condemned to Hell forever. Even prayers and fasting will not benefit such a person because recognition of the Imam is a fundamental principle of Islam.”

It is worth mentioning that stalls of beautifully printed Nahjul Balagha books, published by Ilm-o-Danish and prepared by Markaz-e-Afkar-e-Islami, were set up at locations like the historic Husainia of Muhammad Ali Shah in Lucknow, Alampur, Amia Deoria, and others.

Each session concluded with the recitation of Dua-e-Faraj by Maulana Ejaz Hussain Kashmiri, where attendees prayed together for the well-being of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic system, and for the destruction of oppressors.

All of these programs were broadcast via the Haideri Channel on YouTube, allowing audiences around the world to benefit from them.
